Cedar Fair grew into one of the largest amusement park operators in 2006 with the purchase of Paramount Parks from CBS. With that purchase Cedar Fair now owns and operates all 3 major parks in Ohio. Cedar Point is the flagship park for the company and they continue to build world class rides at the park! Geauga Lake was purchased from Six Flags in 2004 and focuses on the water park portion of the park. They have turned the old Sea World side of the lake into an awesome water park. Kings Island is the newest member of the Cedar Fair Ohio family and ranks right up there with Cedar Point. Kings Island has focused itself the past few years in being very family friendly with great attractions for all ages.

Kings Island to Remove Son of Beasts' Loop
KINGS ISLAND, Ohio – The State of Ohio’s Department of Agriculture released today its final report detailing the outcome of the extensive Son of Beast inspection. The report reaffirms initial indications that the incident was an unforeseen single event failure.

Kings Island will now focus its energies on the appropriate and necessary changes needed to reopen the ride in 2007. In addition to reinforcing the physical structure of the ride, the Park plans to remove the loop. Taking this extra step enables the use of lighter trains, which will reduce the load and lead to a more comfortable ride experience.

The Park is making good progress on Son of Beast and is fully committed to reopening the ride in 2007.
